| Canada India Institutional Cooperation Project

Objective:

The Canada India Institutional Cooperation Project (CIICP) is a major Human Resource Development Project launched during the year 1991 through a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Govt. of Canada and the Govt. of India. The main objective of the Project is to train the staff of the Polytechnic Colleges to improve the quality and enhance the quantum of the human resource potential and to achieve development in Polytechnic Education System.

The Project was initially funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and initiatives formulated and executed jointly by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India. When the Project came to an end on 31st March, 1999, the State Project Coordination Unit (SPCU) was formed and SPCU is taking steps to achieve holistic development in Polytechnic Education System.

At present, 105 Polytechnic Colleges are participating in this Program. Various job oriented, need-based training programs are offered by the CIICP Polytechnic Colleges under Continuing Education Programs.

CIICP Project:

CIICP is a technical education project mandated by an MOU between the Government of Canada and India, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency and executed by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges.

CIICP’s goal is to contribute to the Human Resource Development within the Indian Polytechnic System by focusing on the following areas:

  4. Continuing Education
  5. Women in Development
  6. Student Services

CIICP – A Step towards Continuing Education

There is no full stop to learning. It’s a Continual process, where the mind’s frontiers break free into limitless horizon. Adding up to the College’s effort in making education an enriching process, is the certificate from the Directorate of Technical Education to conduct programs under CIICP.

The amount collected through the courses were utilized for the payment of Resourse persons and various faculty members who contributed greatly in conducting the Continuing Education courses. The balance amount kept in the account was proposed to be utilized for the purchase of LCD projector and Water purifier for the Electrical Block in our College.

AUTOCAD 2D&3D from 10 November 2014 to 15 December 2014 in which 70 students were trained.
Mechanical Department
PRO-E from 10 November 2014 to 19 November 2014 in which 24 students were trained.
CNC PROGRAM TRAINING from 07 November 2014 to 30 November 2014 in which 65 students were trained.

Guest Lectures:
Under CIICP, Mechanical Engg Dept conducted a seminar on “Industrial Safety and its aspects “ on 04-09-2014 by S.Sathian, Assistant Professor, Annamalai University.
Under CIICP,Computer Engg Dept conducted a seminar on “Expectations of Software Industry”on 23-02-2015 by P.VARAGUNAPANDIAN, B.E.,(Software Engineer, Norton Engineering, Symantec Corporation).
